Seven

By Alicia Siryon Wells

SEVEN......The biblical number meaning completion and perfection. This number may have seemed unusual on this cold Sunday evening, but in God's eyes it was perfect, it was complete. This was the number of women that came out to worship at the ACI Chapel Service; an evening in which WAR was taking lead with bringing forth the word and artistic expression of dance unto the Lord. These women were truly "seven lamps of fire burning before the throne"(Rev 4:5b); so eager and intrigued to learn about what God was doing in the midst. The intimate atmosphere allowed for sharing, weeping, praying, and encouraging... this may have not happened with the normal number of Chapel service attendees. The service began with a praise and dance to the song "Freedom" by Eddie James. Minister Melodie brought forth a message of God is Love, from the text 1 John 1:8---and God shifted to the message of salvation. It was at that point the Holy Spirit allowed for one of these ladies to give her life to Christ (and the Angels Rejoiced because of the 1!!). The dancers then ministered to the song "For Your Glory" by Tasha Cobbs and encouraged the women to read Psalm 115:1 which proclaims, Not to us, O Lord, not to us, But to Your name give glory, Because of Your loving kindness, because of Your truth. Minister Melodie was also lead by the spirit pray for healing for another inmate and during offering we heard how thankful the women were for their families.

So we did not take the evening as unusual because of the lack of attendees, but perfect in the eyes of the Lord because He called for the 7, desired salvation for the "1", and the healing, the encouraging, and the time of thanksgiving for us all!
